Introduction and unboxing
Infinix Zero 8 is another great phone developed by the company recently. This is the only second phone to make its way to headquarters. As the company is very popular in Africa, it has also headquarters in France. There is an amazing fact about Infinix that is becoming very popular in Asia and Middle East due to its good specifications and low price. Since we will be discussing its features in the review.
While talking about the packing of the phone, the phone is simply packed in a white box with branding on its front. Opening the box we get a wall charger of 33W with a Type-A to type-C cable with orange colors on the cable heads in order to differentiate the cable from others. Luckily the box also contains a pair of wired ear buds which are not of good quality but are very solid for long term use. In addition to that we get warranty card and guide book and a transparent silicon case.
Performance and UI
The phone is powered by a high quality mediate processor MT6785 Helio G90T whose size is 12nm. It is an octa-core processor (2×2.05 GHz Cortex-A76 & 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55) specially designed for medium level gaming. But we can’t count it into extreme gaming because the processor is somehow old version of mediatek. Perhaps we can say that GPU is of good quality which is Mali-G76 MC4.
The phone supports Android 10 which is the latest android version now and will be upgraded to android 11. Infinix Zero 8 uses its own XOS 7 operating system which is so much customized that we can find each and every option of android 10 and also some extra features in the phone. One of its disadvantages is that it has a lot of preloaded applications which are considered as the advertisements and are always annoying the user. These also slow down the phone.
Design and Display
Infinix Zero 8 is a budget phone but its design never disappoints the user especially the back design is very special due to the rhombus or diamond camera bump. The camera bump is very beautiful placed 4 cameras and a flashlight under them. Below the camera bump there is a gradient of colors which is also in rhombus shape and it makes the phone more beautiful. On the front selfie cameras are placed on the top in the shape of punch-hole on the infinity screen.
On the front we see an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen of 16M colors. The screen has 1080 x 2460 pixels resolution which is similar to 392 ppi density. Also it has 90Hz refresh rate which seems to be good as compared to other low budget phones. The screen size is 6.85 inches and 86.8% screen to body ratio.
Infinix Zero 8 comes with amazing setup of camera. As we have discussed that it is a budget phone but it never means that it has low quality cameras. The main camera is a quad camera bump placed on the top back of the phone. One of which is 64 mega pixels used for taking normal high resolution photos. The second is 8 mega pixels ultra wide lens. The third and fourth ones are 2 mega pixels depth sensors. You may be thinking that why the company placed two same lens on a single phone. The answer is that they used a newly introduced technique. According to this technique the focus of camera doubles and it is able to take most focused photos while ion portrait mode.
The front camera also called as selfie camera for taking selfies is a dual punch-hole type camera. The one is amazingly 48 mega pixels camera which can take very good photos and the second one is 8 mega pixels ultra wide lens same to the one which is placed on the back of the phone.
Besides all that cameras of Infinix Zero 8 have many great camera features. You can use flashlight even when in portrait mode but some of the phones don’t allow that. The night mode is also improved as before. The camera is AI so you can add live effects to the camera before capturing pictures and that’s amazingly great feature.
Battery and charging
Infinix Zero 8 is enclosed by a 4500 mAh Li-Po non-removable battery which is able to charge quickly according to the power provided by a 33W charger through the Type-C port. The company has not advertised a specific time for full charge of the phone but most probably it will be revealed so that you can know the exact timing of charging the phone to 100% power or to a specific battery percentage. As in this era the charging time for phone matters a lot. The much faster it is, the good will be quality of phone.
There are also many other features of the phone like sensors, finger-print quality and its colors and price etc. The phone has a side-mounted finger print sensor of good quality for the ease of user. In addition to this proximity, gyroscope, accelerometer and compass are also placed in phone. The cameras can record up to 4K video @30 fps. Also the front camera can record high resolution video with video stabilization. The phone comes in silver diamond, green diamond and black diamond colors, but the green diamond is most beautiful color among all others.
