Introduction and unboxing
Again here is the Sony Xperia 5 II for review. This is the predecessor of Sony Xperia 1 II which was also the best phone of its time and it was released some time ago. The special feature of Xperia 5 II is that it has an amazing design with amazing features. We will discuss all its features and specifications in this review in detail.
Sony Xperia 5 II comes in a white cardboard box and name is written in shining letters on the box. Opening the box you don’t get too much accessories because this is simple and classical edition of Sony Xperia 5 II. From the box we get an adapter of 18W charging with a USB type-C to C cable and some quick guides. No headphones or ear buds are present in the box so you have to but it externally.
Performance and UI
Sony Xperia 5 II is good at performance with the powerful processor of Snapdragon 865 (7nm) but however it is not the latest processor being used in good devices. It is an octa-core processor so you haven’t any problem while using it for heavy gaming.
The phone is powered by Android 10. Here we see a plus point that its UI looks very similar to stock-android which is very smooth and stable. There are some additional features added by company. The rumors about its android version is that it will be upgraded to android 11 but it has not announced officially yet.
Design and Display
When you look at the phone you will probably notice that there is not a big change in design of Xperia 5 II as compared to Xperia 1 II. The camera placement on the back is also same. The front side of both phones are same with no notch or pop up camera design. Sony is still following the classic design with a greater look.
Sony Xperia has a powerful OLED display of 6.1 inches screen size with a higher refresh rate of 120HZ best for gaming as well as other high end operations too. Its display has a resolution of 1080X2520 Pixels. There we see an upgrade in the protection of screen as compared to last Sony Xperia 1 II. It has Gorilla Coring Glass 6 as a protection of the phone.
Sony Xperia 5 II is not rich in cameras but we can see the clear result of its cameras which show that it is not so poor in camera technology. At the back we get a triple camera bump with dual LED Flash. All the three cameras are of 12MP. The first one is main camera by which normal light photos are taken. Others are depth sensor and ultra-wide lens with additional features of night mode, HDR, panorama and depth effect etc.
On the front is a single 8MP camera with an additional feature of HDR. It an also take clearer selfies and has AI beauty in it. The front camera can record up to 1080 pixels video at the rate of 30 frames per second. Also back camera can record up to 4K videos with up to 120 frames per second.
Battery and charging
Sony Xperia 5 II comes with a 4000mAh non-removable LI-Ion battery with a greater stand-by time and the usage time too. The battery is good at gaming and you can play games up to 8-9 hours approximately and the normal usage time is more than that.
We get a fast adapter and the phone also supports fast charging of 21W. you get your phone 50% charged in just 30 min as advertised by the company. The phone has four colors Black, Grey, Blue and Pink.
